Making Wolfenstein

I played Escape from Castle Wolfenstein back in the day, on a 386 PC.

I also played The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay.

When I heard the people who made Butcher Bay were making a Wolfenstein game, I had to find out: 1. Why?, and 2. Would it be any good?

This story is the product of three days on Uppsala Sweden getting to know the vibrant characters at MachineGames., By the end of my stay with them, they were sharing deeply personal stories about growing up in Sweden and living out their dream of making games as good as (or better) than the games they played when they were young.

The story about meeting id Software’s Tim Willits alone was worth the trip.

Making Wolfenstein: A fight club on top of the world
